pascal quignard: pequeños tratados
These Pequeños tratados are neither essays nor fictions. They were something that did not fit any genre. They were short, torn arguments, contradictions that were left open-ended, negative signs, aporias, fragments of stories, vestiges. I did not hold on to anything but that which History rejected across time, in its pretention to write its grand lying narrative. From ancient books I only held on to what the Norm discarded from past literatures in order to reassert its academic and colective authority.
I have always loved all things rejected. It has almost become a second nature. You can see from above that which is despised when the treasure that's left of the human world is perhaps what has been disowned.
