Loophole consists of four books (and a colophon) of very small sizes, all of them stored in a case designed for the occasion. This book expands the series of Prieto artist's books that share a small format and a hole that, as protagonist principal, coins and crosses. A constituent element, the hole, of minimalist reminiscence, that we can understand as a derivation of its interest in those circular and corporeal objects that are often part of its sculptures, drawings and photographs.
This edition provides, on the one hand, a unique formalization that has an extremely small format - 4 x 5 cm - a particularity that leads us to think of precedents such as Dieter Rotho by Michelangelo Pistoletto, both interested in making small format editions. Likewise, the circular hole as the protagonist brings us back to a constant that is found in Prieto's sculptures and objects: whether it is a coin, a ball of yarn, a cup, a chocolate rubber bullet or a pea, these are elements that drive to contemplate circularity, recurrent theme in his work.
Loophole includes images of moments and places lived by the artist - from a plane ticket to a credit card, from the invoice of a breakfast in Venice to a business card - that show us the artist's daily experience and help him to rewrite your personal history
