Anti Tropicalia gathers various bodies of work that evidence Carlos Amorales’ long trajectory in the fine arts. This exhibition explores his zeal for drawing and music as research tools, as well as his interest in generating individual and collaborative works. For this show at the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo de Costa Rica, Amorales presents drawings made between 2012 and 2015 –some monumental and others small scale– that evidence his affinity with graphic arts (he has created posters, newspapers, prints, album covers, and numerous publications) and his great fascination with music in all of its genres and forms. Aditionally, it includes a series of video works that are directly related to music, among which can be highlighted his collaborations with Julián Lede and Joaquín Orellana.
